An octagonal centre table in the style of Charles Heathcote Tatham (1772-1842) in a polished and bronzed wood finish. The four griffins standing upon an octagonal square edged plinth base, supporting the octagonal cross banded frieze and mahogany top.

Charles Heathcote Tatham, an architect and designer, was instrumental in the creation of the Regency style. Tatham studied in Rome between 1794 and 1797 where he made a number of drawings of ancient monuments. A drawing of a table base in the Vatican by Tatham dated 1799 shows an almost identical griffin that has inspired this centre table.
