Code: M56 - George III Rococo Mirror

This carved gilt-wood mirror has a lightly designed Rococo frame in the style of George II. The vigorously handled acanthus leaf scrolls are entwined with trailing leaves and flowers and with a basket of flowers forming the cresting.

The charming carved basket of summer flowers that form the cresting of this frame is often thought to be an attribute of Hope, one of the Virtues.
