Code: M55 - Hope Wall Plaque

A carved wood wall plaque based on a design by Thomas Hope.

Thomas Hope (1769-1831) was one of the most influential patrons of the English Regency period and a highly original furniture designer. In 1807 Hope published Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, based upon his own house in Duchess Street; the design for this plaque is taken from plate 37.
