Code: M34 - George III Architectural Bracket

A carved architectural wall bracket. The carved compound moulded shelf is supported by a scrolled volute decorated with leaves and husks, flanked by gadroon mouldings above a leaf and cone finial. The tablet beneath the shelf is carved with griffins flanking a classical lamp.

The strong architectural lines of this carved wall bracket reflect the Palladian style that started in England with William Kent (1685-1748) and which continued throughout the Georgian period. The word Georgian has become a byword throughout the world for quintessential English taste and style.
