Code: M25 - Regency Specimen Centre Table

An important Regency design centre table with a magnificent inlaid specimen marble top surrounded by a Greek key motif surmounting a decorated triform base and resting on ebonised lion paw feet.

This design closely relates to a design by Thomas Hope (1769-1831).

Thomas Hope spent some 8 years travelling in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean where he developed a passion for Greek art and architecture. His archaeological studies led him to copy ancient furniture in an accurate manner.
